We can calculate the percent error: When we look at the position vs. time graphs of the cart in motion, we expect to see a positive parabola because as it starts traveling up the track it moves closer to the motion detector at a decreasing velocity which gives it a curve and not a line because the velocity is changing at a rate and not a constant. That is what relativity is al...

It turns out there is a relationship between the average velocity of matter in the expanding universe, and the overall curvature of spacetime. This material is rated for grades 5 through 12 according to NASA. In a mine shaft at a depth of, say, 2 km, we can use the shell theorem to tell us that the outermost 2 km of the earth has no net gravitational effect, and the gravitational force is the same as what would be produced if the remaining, deeper, parts of the earth were all concentrated at its center. This work goe...

This segment covers importance of palladium and history of quantum theory. Everything can be created from the nesting of one donut, with a pair of vortices; three donuts, with six single direction vortices; five donuts, with ten vortices; and seven donuts, with fourteen vortices. And in fact, Hubble and the ISS have very different orbits; Hubble orbits the Earth roughly 200 ki...

The frequency is determined by the voltage. Since each wire carries the same current, F is greatest at the outer surface. Solving Equations (1) and (2) simultaneously gives (b) FIG. The Space Shuttle has an initial mass of about 2 million kg and produces about 31 million N of thrust. Your fingertips should be dry. [DES] A mathematical analysis of this can be found in Arnold...

He suspended two pendulums from the same piece of wood; the continual strokes of the pendulums communicated similar vibrations to the particles of the wood; but since these different vibrations could not well persist independently and without interfering with one another, unless the pendulums were in agreement, it happened by some sort of miracle that even when their strokes had...

If you accept that prolonged cat stares indicate violated feline expectations, then it is evidence, the scientists say, that cats inferred the existence of a ball using a physical cause-and-effect rule. We have from momentum conservation for the projectile-target system: Ma va = M a + M X vc. 1 2 The initial energy is: Ei = M a v a. 2 The final kinetic energy is: b Ef = g b g b...

As a coaster reaches the bottom of a hill or goes around a curve, the students feel their bodies pressing into their seats. "That's the sensation of gravity and the acceleration of the roller coaster car catching them to start up the next hill," Hall said. On September 14, 2015 LIGO registered gravitational waves for the first time, as a result of the collision of two black hol...
