Reading goals don’t have to feel like homework! If you want to read more books this year, here’s how to set a goal that’s fun and achievable:
- Know your pace – If you read one book a month, aim for 12 books a year. If you’re a speed reader, maybe 30 or more works for you!
- Make it flexible – Instead of a strict number, try a goal like “read for 20 minutes a day” or “explore three new genres.”
- Join a challenge – Many libraries and book communities have reading challenges that can keep things interesting!
- Reward yourself – Treat yourself to a cozy reading night, a fun bookmark, or a new book when you hit a milestone.
- Don’t stress! – If you don’t hit your goal, that’s okay. Reading should always be about enjoyment, not pressure.
